Being a leader is hard, everything points back to you. But in order to develop a healthy youth ministry good leadership is necessary. Below you will find some steps to become a better leader.

Work with what you have, not what you want.

Nobody is perfect, that is why you have to develop the volunteers in your youth ministry. You have to hold people to the same standard that you hold yourself to.

Take the blame, even if its not your fault.

We shouldn't make excuses, instead we have to take ownership for the volunteers we develop. If its your youth ministry, then you are the person that is held responsible.

Everyone is watching, so act like it.

The best way to lead others is by example. If we don't want to do hard things, then we can't expect other people to. Everything starts with the example you set for others. 

Figure out what should motivate you, and what shouldn't.

You have to know why you are doing what you are doing. Our motivation Remind yourself of who your efforts are ultimately pointed toward.
